Brash bashing sure to increase - Institute for Liberal Values

Brash bashing sure to increase - Institute for Liberal Values: "Speaking of the lunatics in the Green Party just read their press statement attacking Brash. Comrade Sue Bradford whinged: 'Can he [Brash] not see the contradiction between giving rewards to the rich and punishment to the poor?'
Typical Green logic? People who work for a living shouldn't be rewarded. The people who pay the bills that keep the welfare state stumbling alone are not supposed to be allowed to keep any of the money they actually earn. On the other hand every special interest group is worthy of confiscated subsidies from the government. Comrade Bradford seems to think that people who work for a living have no right to the product of their labour. At the same time people who are profession bludgers have the 'right' to live at the expense of others. That's the Green view of the world. And what 'rewards' are being given? That implies that anything you earn that the state lets you keep is a 'gift'. Letting people keep their property is not giving them something. Not given people what they have no right to is not punishing them.
What is the contradiction that Brash is proposing? Yes, people who produce should be rewarded or in this case allowed to keep the product of their labour. Even someone as witless as a Greenie should understand that even they can't redistribute wealth until someone first produces it. You see, Sue, somebody has to make the goodies that you steal to give away. Or to put it more simply: nobody get any if there ain't any. "

Actually, I think someone as witless as a Greenie will never get the point.
